Tell us what you do and what your work typically entails.

I am a Manager at Deloitte Consulting and every project has different challenges and different people dynamics making no two days alike. But underneath it all, I see my role is to bring my teams and clients together and elevate them to solve problems and get stuff done.

How has the altMBA helped you level up?

The altMBA made me realize exactly how much my fear, need for perfection and validation prevents me from doing so many things. I now understand that I have a contribution to make and so I have a responsibility to take risks, that failing is part of living and growing and most importantly to have fun during the process.

What’s the #1 thing you liked about being part of the altMBA?

The new, but deep friendships that will last long beyond the four weeks. My teams listened, encouraged me to dig deeper, gave me the space to make mistakes, and cheered me on through my obstacles and successes. At the same time, it was a great privilege to be a part of their transformations and to watch my new friends grow and reach new heights.

What's something you approached differently recently because of what you learned during the altMBA?

I stopped thrashing and started doing, beginning with reaching out to someone that I’ve been wanting to collaborate with for over a year. Prior to the altMBA I made excuses that I wasn’t ready, or wasn’t good enough. The altMBA taught me the discipline and the magic of holding myself on the hook, welcoming help from others and showing up even if it isn’t perfect. I am only at the beginning of my life after the altMBA, but with my learnings it’s nearly impossible to keep living my life on the sidelines. And I am excited!
